Today, it happened again...another person suffered because of another individual's lack of integrity.
I wish this wasn't a common theme, but it seems to be an issue that has reared its head in many of the consultations and readings I've had with my clients lately.
It's as if actions seem to have not consequence – at least in the mind of the offending individual (and perhaps, "offend" isn't the correct word to use because none of my clients expressed feeling offended, but rather, a sense of grief and loss).
They suffered because of another person's actions.
Often, we travel along our life's path, doing the best that we can, caught up in our daily to-do lists. Frequently, we forget there are consequences behind everything we do (or fail to do). This affects the many.
As if viewing life through our own "rose-colored" vision, we forget that we also leave behind a thumbprint -- consequences of our actions that impact those around us.
I am the owner of my actions [karma], heir to my actions, born of my actions, related through my actions, and have my actions as my arbitrator. Whatever I do, for good or for evil, to that will I fall heir…
The Buddha, Anguttara Nikaya V.57, Upajjhatthana Sutta
Remember, we leave our energy (our spiritual thumbprint) behind us wherever we go. It's a good idea to think about what that thumbprint looks like.
• Are my actions in harmony with the concept of Universal love?
• Am I listening to the Spiritual promptings that come from the soul?
• Will my actions and/or words allow others to "land on their feet" (or am I more interested in being "right")?
• Am I honest and at peace with all of my thoughts, decisions, and actions?
• Do I show integrity with every decision I make?
When we live our life with integrity, karma follows. As the Buddah states above, we are the heirs of the consequences of our actions. Our choice for integrity living brings integrity into our future.
Let's work together to bring a world filled with integrity and the consequences of a karmic future filled with integrity, honesty, peace, and love.
May you enjoy your karma.
Peace & Blessings in Integrity ~
